Defeat the spirit of stagnancy
You probably hear it all the time, don’t become stagnant in life! Make sure you kick that spirit of laziness out of you and how about the famous saying “You know those that don’t do nothing don’t amount to nothing“. Aren’t you tired of hearing the same complaints over and over again? Well, I hope you’re not. If you’re a victim to the spirit of stagnancy you need to be reminded of it. Those on the outside can offer you a better perspective of where you stand, at least if they’re honest folks. So what do you do once you know your possessed by this spirit? You have to take the necessary steps to exorcize it out and don’t worry you wont need the traditional crucifixes, the bottle of holy water or the local exorcist. Just follow these simple and practical suggestions and you’ll be just fine.
You’re not God
As far as I know there is only one omnipotent force in the universe, which is GOD. God is the only one that can do it all and be it all, so stop thinking you can compare to such a powerful, cosmic and universal force. Get help when you need the help. Sometimes we become stagnant because we run out of ideas so perhaps a good strategy you can put into play would be talking to those around you and those that share your interest or passion. Bounce ideas off of each other and see if you can get inspired or motivated to implement the suggestions you get and engage once again in your pursuit of happiness, assuming you enjoy what you’re currently pursuing.
Gimme a break, gimme a break
The words above probably remind you of a familiar tune you hear on your T.V set every now and again but the message it shares is on point. Sometimes when you become stagnant what you need is a simple break. You need to get away and re-start your brain. Like step number one you’re not God and sometimes you need to re-juice. Take a few days off and maybe when you come back you’ll be re-energized and re-connected to what you want to accomplish. Usually those that are pursuing passions or dreams don’t plan on changing plans anytime soon so Take a break! it’s okay, you deserve it right now.
Find a motivational source
Sometimes we need to search for inspiration, maybe what you need is someone to look up to. Someone who you can go to to in person or at least in spirit and get refreshed. Some folks read books written by people in their industry that they look up to. Some people read blog for the same reasons and others watch their favorite actor or singer do their thing on the T.V set. Just make sure that whatever your source of motivation connect to it every now and again and get yourself a glass of motivational refreshment.
Change it up
Sometimes what a stagnant person needs is to change the routine a bit, maybe you’re bored of the way you do things. If you’re the sort of person that gets bored quickly you need to change up your routine every now and again. If you’re a writer maybe you write inside your office one day and the other day you sit down in the park. If you have a set agenda, live wild and free, break the agenda every now and again. Of course this means you still have to complete all tasks on schedule but you can change the order up a bit. Now this will work for some and not all, so make sure if you take this step to finish what you started or what you’re expected to complete.
Here are a few other bullet points that may help get your gears in motion:
- If you don’t work towards your dreams, who will? hold yourself accountable.
- Wake up early and plan out your day.
- Rest, a rested mind is a productive mind.
- Remember that others have achieved what you’re trying to achieve, know that it’s possible for you too.
- Meditate to clear your mind
- Take baby steps, start slow
- Break the patterns
